PuzzleUnlock for iOS and Android

Free solvers for every major daily puzzle — with a feature no other solver offers: the choice between instant answers and gradual hints.

PuzzleUnlock is a free collection of 24 interactive puzzle solvers covering every major daily word and number puzzle. Whether you play NYT Wordle, Connections, Spelling Bee, Strands, the Crossword, or the Mini Crossword every morning — or you're a Sudoku, Scrabble, or Boggle player — PuzzleUnlock has a dedicated solver built specifically for that puzzle's format and rules.

Every solver on PuzzleUnlock is completely free to use, requires no account or signup, and works on any device — phone, tablet, or desktop. There are no paywalls, no daily limits, and no ads blocking the solver interface. The site is supported by standard display advertising that keeps every solver permanently free for everyone.

Every other puzzle solver on the internet does one thing: gives you the answer immediately. Enter your clues, get the solution. That works when you're completely stuck and just need the answer. But it completely fails when you're almost there — when you need a nudge, not a giveaway.

There was no middle ground between struggling alone and having the answer spoiled. PuzzleUnlock was built to fill that gap. The Unlock It feature gives players the choice to reveal answers one letter or one group at a time — enough to get unstuck without sacrificing the satisfaction of finishing the puzzle yourself.

Every solver on PuzzleUnlock offers two modes, selectable before solving:

Every valid answer appears instantly, fully revealed and sorted by relevance. Choose this when you need the answer now — when a deadline is approaching, the streak is on the line, or you've genuinely exhausted all your ideas.

Answers are hidden behind tap-to-reveal tiles. Each tap reveals one letter of one answer. Choose this when you're stuck but still want to feel the satisfaction of solving — when a nudge is all you need rather than a complete handoff.

No other free puzzle solver offers this choice. The Unlock It feature is what makes PuzzleUnlock unique in a crowded category.

PuzzleUnlock uses Claude AI — developed by Anthropic — to power three features that require genuine language understanding rather than simple pattern matching:

Standard crossword solver tools match clue text against answer databases. PuzzleUnlock's crossword solver uses Claude AI to actually understand clues — interpreting wordplay, puns, cultural references, fill-in-the-blank patterns, and the conventions of crossword clue writing. For cryptic crosswords, Claude identifies the wordplay mechanism (anagram, hidden word, reversal, charade, or container), explains how the answer is derived, and returns the answer with full reasoning. This makes PuzzleUnlock's crossword and cryptic solver genuinely more capable than database-matching tools for difficult or unusual clues.

The NYT Connections solver uses Claude AI to analyze all 16 words simultaneously for semantic relationships, compound word patterns, wordplay, and cultural connections. The AI understands how NYT Connections puzzles are designed — specifically that categories involve relationships (things that can precede "ball," words associated with a theme, proper nouns sharing a connection) rather than simple semantic similarity. The AI returns four proposed groups with confidence ratings and explains the reasoning behind each grouping.

PuzzleUnlock's photo scanner uses Claude AI's vision capabilities to read puzzle grids directly from photographs. Point your phone camera at a newspaper Sudoku, a Boggle board, a Connections screenshot, or a Word Search grid — the AI reads every letter or digit and fills the solver automatically. No manual entry required. The photo scanner works on all five photo-compatible solvers: Sudoku, Connections, Strands, Word Search, and Boggle. On mobile, it offers a direct camera option and a gallery picker. On desktop, it opens a file picker.

PuzzleUnlock currently offers 24 free solvers across four categories:
